Surface waters are usually sourced
from nearby lakes, ponds and rivers.
Treatment of surface water involves
removal of objectionable materials commonly through filtration or
sedimentation.
However, treatment
process may depend on the source
location and its surrounding activities. It may have erratic changes in
quality or may be stable and suitable
for treatment as direct feed.
.
Final design of the surface water facility will require testing of the raw water delivered so that appropriate treatment chemicals can be selected. The removal process often produces high solids due to accumulation of silt-based residue.
The solids are further treated to separate the water as return liquor and the solids for disposal. PROTEC understands the need and offers a variety of solution to fit environmental standards and clients stringent requirements
